How to Play
Basic Rules
Tetris is a classic puzzle game where players control various shaped blocks (called 'tetrominoes') falling from the top of the screen, placing them in the game area.
When a row is completely filled with blocks, that row is cleared and the player earns points. As the game progresses, the falling speed of the blocks gradually increases, making the game more challenging.
Game Over Condition: The game ends when blocks stack up to the top of the game area and no new blocks can be placed.
Tetromino Types
There are 7 different shaped blocks in the game, each with a distinct color:
- I-shape (Cyan): Long bar, can be placed vertically or horizontally
- O-shape (Yellow): Square, the most stable block
- T-shape (Purple): T-shaped, ideal for filling gaps
- L-shape (Orange): L-shaped, has two orientations
- J-shape (Blue): Inverted L-shape, has two orientations
- S-shape (Green): S-shaped, perfect for filling corners
- Z-shape (Red): Z-shaped, perfect for filling corners
Controls
Keyboard Controls
- ← →: Move block left and right
- ↓: Accelerate block falling
- Spacebar: Drop block instantly
- ↑ or Z: Rotate block clockwise
- Shift or X: Rotate block counterclockwise
- P: Pause/Resume game
Touch Controls
- D-pad arrows: Control block movement left/right and accelerate falling
- ↺ button: Rotate block
- ↓ button: Drop block instantly

Game Strategies
- Keep the Bottom Flat: Try to keep the bottom of the game area flat to avoid creating holes, which makes it easier to clear rows.
- Predict Block Placement: Use the "Next Piece" preview on the right to plan the placement of the next block in advance.
- Use Rotations Wisely: Familiarize yourself with how each block rotates to place them in suitable positions.
- Don't Rush the Fall: Take time to think about the best placement position while the block is falling.
- Watch for Level Increases: As your level increases, blocks fall faster, requiring quicker reaction times.
